I remember in high school when bell bottom pants and plaid clothing were the thing to wear. How I wish I would have kept these items because they have now resurfaced as a must have staple in your wardrobe. One could hope that I would still be able to still fit the clothing 15+ years later.
As an adult, I’ve always had a thing for plaid blazers and coats. In the fall, I decided to be daring and purchase a pair of form fitting plaid pants from Bloomingdale's. I envisioned that they would go well with a black BCBG bodysuit I purchased from the same store a month earlier. To achieve this look, pair plaid pants with a solid color (preferably a darker color) bodysuit or fitted cotton turtleneck. This look will work perfectly under a duster or pea coat during the winter.
I bought a pair of bell bottom jeans last summer from Free People and never had a chance to wear them. Recently, I decided that they needed to be worn before next summer approaches. Initially I was confused on how to wear my bell bottoms during the winter months. I looked in my closet and pulled out a faux fur vest and thermal. I was happy with how the fit came together. To achieve this look, pair bell bottoms with a denim shirt or thermal and faux fur vest.
Jenell’s Tip: When shopping this holiday season, be sure to purchase items that can be worn more than once. Think to yourself, ‘what articles do I have in my closet that I can wear with this item?’ You’d be surprised!
